I’m finally back in California after trying my hand at living on the East Coast for over 5 years. I cannot possibly tell you how good it is to be back here where I belong. I was forced leave a few stellar people behind, but to be honest there really isn’t anything else I will miss.

I was always told of how great NY is, but it just never really grew on me. Connecticut was miserable with the psychotic people and the snow and Philly was far too hot & humid. California has everything a girl like me could possibly want; gorgeous weather (read: fog), intelligent / sane / creative / lovely people (not to mention thee best food you can’t get back East like Tejava, It's Its and sourdough bread) … so many things & people I’ve missed. It’s so so SO good to be back.

I’ve thrown myself into a few projects since I’ve been back but nothing I can really put my hands on as of late. Call it laziness; call it lack of motivation / loss of a muse. I cancelled a trip to Southern CA this morning due to the decision to move into the city by September. I’m due to shoot the 2 VAST shows at the Red Devil Lounge and possibly the Harvey Danger show at Café Du Nord. I just haven’t had the oomph to pick up my camera. I’m sure the City will inspire me as soon as I get there… until then …

Today I realized (during a short television break) that sadly I will always be Abby Barnes. As cheesy as that film may be I cannot tell you how much I identify with her character. Maybe I *should* get into radio after all ...
